Second way of developing tranquillity – Good weather (makes good environment). Was alone one shiny afternoon, merely strolling a silent empty lane with shady trees along it. The cool wind swayed the trees and the leaves gave hypnotic rustle.... The warmth of the sunlight and the golden rays reflected by the bushes gave a real calming effect. With external peace contributed by Nature’s help, the mind was somehow slowly inclined to meditate on walking at that moment then. How every minute detail of movement, intention, the pressure on the ground compressed by the foot and exerted the lifting… was the entire mind’s sole interest. But definitely wallowing in tranquillity is not the aim of practice, it is a vital tool.
